Momeni – Esme Collection – Las Vegas

Yes, there were “Traditional” rugs at AmericasMart.  In Las Vegas, Chandra seemed to have the only remotely “traditional” design hand knotted in wool and silk.

Momeni – Shelby Collection – AmericasMart – Wool

Yes, there were more “wool” and “wool and viscose” or “wool and silk” rugs at AmericasMart.

Jaipur – Polarus Collection – Americasmart

In both Atlanta and Las Vegas, there was a preponderance of polypropylene and jute.  Both Safavieh and Kaleen were showing  some what “traditional” design rugs machine made in Turkey of 100% polypropylene  Wool seemed to be an after thought.

Jaipur Living – Bermuda Collection – Las Vegas

What does this mean?

I invite you to check out my impression by going to Walking the Market and scrolling through the Posts.

We walked both markets taking pictures of an “exhibitor’s favorite rug”  More than 101 rugs with many duplicate exhibitors.  The exhibitors’ “favorite” usually is a combination of the newest introduction and/or the one generating the most interest from buyers.
