Jute seems to be the new hot fiber. Eleven new introductions featured jute or a jute mix as the predominate fiber.
Eight of the eleven rugs were shown in Las Vegas. The last time, Walking the Market mentioned Jute was a rug KAS showed at the 2013 Home Fashions Week.
Polypropylene was the predominate fiber in eleven rugs, eight of which were shown in Las Vegas. Safavieh and Kaleen both showed machine made 100% polypropylene rugs woven in Turkey.
