– Around 85 percent of exhibition space already booked
– Fourth season of [email protected]
– Sharpened focus on emerging industry trends
Hannover. Preparations for DOMOTEX 2017 are already in full swing. Held from 14 to 17 January in Hannover, Germany, the world’s leading trade fair for carpets and floor coverings is all about innovations, new trends and new business. And almost eight months out from opening day, demand for display space is looking decidedly strong. “Providers from all around the world will exhibit at DOMOTEX in order to leverage the show’s strong international profile and get their 2017 business year off to a promising start,” commented Deutsche Messe Managing Board member Dr. Jochen Köckler. “DOMOTEX will once again be true to form as the global innovation driver and flagship event of the carpets and floor coverings industry,” he said, noting that around 85 percent of the show’s available exhibition space had already been booked.
“At this early stage it’s already looking likely that we’ll have more exhibitors and more leased exhibition space than in 2015 – the most recent comparable staging of DOMOTEX,” added Köckler. “This growth is driven by registrations by new exhibitors and by returning exhibitors increasing the size of their presentations. The upswing is particularly notable in the luxury vinyl tiles and machine-made carpets sections of the show.”
Visitors at DOMOTEX 2017 will be floored by an extensive array of new materials, colors and designs as they explore the rich and varied lifestyle options and modern interior design possibilities presented by the new rugs, textile and resilient floor coverings and parquet, wood and laminate products on display. “Whatever product innovations and collections will be sweeping the market in the coming season, visitors will see them first at DOMOTEX,” remarked Köckler. “This will be impressively evident in all 12 exhibition halls.”
Innovations in floor coverings
The most creative product innovations and design highlights will be on display at the next edition of the popular [email protected] showcase. [email protected] is a unique format that enables exhibitors to give their brand and their latest products added exposure at the fair. It includes special display areas where expertly selected innovations are artistically and prominently staged, providing visitors with a valuable guide to the many innovations on display throughout DOMOTEX.
The format also includes the [email protected] Dialogues – a series of talks, presentations and discussion panels on important industry and flooring fashion themes by celebrated international designers. [email protected] also features application-specific tours which directly explore the themes covered in the Dialogues with reference to the displays of selected exhibitors. The tours are an excellent source of inspiration, especially for architects and interior designers and planners.
New platform for flooring industry trends
DOMOTEX will place more emphasis on cutting-edge flooring industry trends than ever before next year, the show will have a new speaking stage where young international designers will be able to unveil their ideas and creations for the floorscapes of tomorrow. Preparations will start this summer with a special workshop headed by Munich-based industrial designer and [email protected] jury chairman Stefan Diez. The workshop is aimed at the young talents who will be using DOMOTEX to show the flooring industry the shape of things to come.
Held annually in Hannover, Germany, DOMOTEX is the world’s leading trade fair for carpets and floor coverings. DOMOTEX 2016 featured 1,441 exhibitors from 59 nations. It also achieved a year-on-year increase in visitor numbers, attracting 45,000 industry professionals from more than 100 nations. 59 percent of these decision makers came from outside Germany. It is this strong international focus that makes DOMOTEX the perfect setting for exhibitors, enabling them to reach all key target segments from the retail, wholesale, skilled trades, interior design and architecture sectors in the space of just four days.
